Went to the Melting Pot to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend. First Melting Pot experience. Pros: Servers were attentive Salad was amazing, the dressing was very good & typically I only like ranch dressing. Cheese dip was very tasty- although you can easily make it better at home. Chocolate and dessert was on point. Cons: Servers were annoyingly attentive. We had almost everyone who worked in the restaurant, managers and all stop at our table to introduce themselves & check in. The waitress stopped by too many times asking us with each bite how the food was. We were trying to talk to each other and have a 'date night' but gave up on attempting any conversations, especially any private conversations because we could not go more than 3 minutes without a staff person coming by to interrupt us or creepily checking out our table from a few feet away. Don't know what was going on with that, we were seated 3 hours before closing time- it was weird. The boiling your own food- I thought this was frankly gross. I was disgusted. I ordered the vegetarian platter while my date got a mix of meat. I had to wait until his food was cooked before I could cook mine, because obviously I could not eat stuff that was cooked with meat, essentially turning the water into beef/chicken broth. (He was very hungry since he didn't eat/like the cheese dip or salad) The waitress was very accommodating and she prepared another pot of water for me to boil my entree in. About the entree- the vegetarian dish is a bunch of nasty raw vegetables. I had about 1 pound of mushrooms, 4 spears of asparagus, broccoli, carrots, potatoes and some other stuff. Never in my life would l chose to eat bland, boiled vegetables for dinner even as a life long vegetarian. They offered some dipping sauces too, none of which were appropriate for the entree dish. I was very confused I thought the vegetables would come with more cheese for dipping but they didn't- you are expected to eat the boiled food maybe dipped in honey mustard if you'd like. My dates entree looked worst than mine. He ordered the 3 selections of meat. The portion size was tiny, looked like maybe 1 selection. he boiled it all and make a gross bland looking stew. He left very hungry. The price. My date never lets me see the bill but I can do the math in my head and figure out its far from worth it, I know my meal experience was about $40 and his was probably the same or a little less. Portion Sizes- the salad was one of the best parts but it was so small its almost like a tasting sample. Ambiance- the decor and ambiance of this place left a lot to be desired. Maybe it was where we were sited next to the door and hostess stand. We were all dressed up and I was envisioning a nice romantic atmosphere appropriate for a special date- it didn't quite hit the mark. Time- It just takes way to long to sit through this meal experience. I really don't like being at a restaurant for as much time as this takes, especially since the staff kept intruding on our meal and space. Recommendation: I'd suggest getting the salad (if you don't mind paying $$$ for a few pieces of lettuce), get a selection of cheese and then go crazy on dessert, skip the entree all together because no matter which one you get, it'll be a shitty boiled mess that's probably under-cooked.

Well, after living in the area now for 27 years and never having tried Melting Pot I can now say I have. And, I don't need to go back. Reservation was for 7p. Arrived at 6:45 and told the hostess stand we were here. She said to wait in the bar which we did. By 7:10 when we hadn't been called I went back to her and it was another person who asked if our party was complete? I said yea, we had been waiting and she said "ahh, okay, we almost gave your table to someone else!". We were seated and at 7:55 we got our first morsel of food. It was the cheddar fondue. Wasn't bad, I probably would've picked the traditional Swiss cheese based. Next came the salads, very small, maybe six bites worth. The entree had lobster, chicken, sirloin and two spaghetti ravioli thingys. I wasn't at all wild about boiling these beautiful slices of sirloin. We chose the mojo broth. UGH! We were finished a good twenty minutes until dessert was offered. Finally, dessert was the turtle chocolate fondue, probably the best part of the meal. A plateful of toasted marshmallow, chocolate covered marshmallow, pound cake, brownie, strawberry & banana, Rice Krispie treat and cheesecake. Maybe this type of restaurant is your bag...just not mine.

It's fondue and it's fun. But I think it's kind of pricey. My son wanted to eat here for his birthday, so we had dinner here. I found the fondue had too much wine for my taste. But that is just me. The cheese fondue (trio Wisconsin and Swiss) was good. The breads were very good to dip in the cheese. I think the entree dishes are plentiful to eat. Since you are cooking only a couple of pieces of meat or seafood at one time, you tend to eat less. So I would keep that in mind when you order. The meats and seafood were good. You had plenty of different sauces to dip your entree meats/seafood. The chocolate fondue is always good. Good dipping items and a great way to end the dinner.

The whole idea of a fondue restaurant is a rip off. What, top dollar for melted cheese and broccoli on a stick? Top dollar drinks, no parking, but packed with trendy looking women trying to be more hip than their coworkers by paying out the ass for melted cheese. I mean yea it tasted good, but it's not really a meal! I went out for a burger after I paid the $70 tab for me and date. Urgh.

The cheese fondues and dessert fondue is fabulous, but the salads were pathetically small. The two cheese fondues we ordered--cheddar and original gruyere-swiss--were so yummy, but the dipping items were lame: carrots (?), broccoli, cauliflower, apples and lack luster bread. For the money you are spending, they should give you fresh bread at least! The dessert fondue you definitely get more for your money, since the chocolate comes with a whole plate of desserts to dip: cheesecake, poundcake, brownies, marshmallows rolled in either oreo crumbs or graham cracker crumbs, bananas, strawberries, and rice crispies--and you can get more of any of them if you need more to dip for free. The service was friendly but slow.

They have cupcake wine on their specials menu....guess who's getting wine -_-

This rating is based solely on dessert. We didn't actually get dinner here but came for the chocolate fondue, which was great! We split the original, which has crunchy PB and milk chocolate combined in an indulgent swirl of deliciousness that has just the right balance of sweetness (I don't like chocolate that is overly sweet). My favorite dippers were the bananas and Rice Krispies treats, although just about everything covered in PB and chocolate is good, in my opinion. It was pretty busy tonight and we waited for a 15 min but the dessert fondue was worth it. To be honest, the dinner entrees that came out didn't look that fantastic so I would stick with the chocolate and cheese fondues here (they looked absolutely delicious albeit cardiac arrest-inducing).

Love this place, you can't go wrong with fondue. You can also customize flavors. For example, the banana foster is served with white chocolate fondue but you can easily replace it with dark or milk chocolate and add things in. I love places that are open to customization, so if you are a picky eater, there is no need to fret. 4 stars instead of 5 just because the one in Philadelphia is a lot nicer in terms of atmosphere. Overall, great restaurant chain for a romantic date or just trying something new with friends. Classy, innovative, and fun. *Thumbs Up*

My wife and I dined at The Melting Pot for our wedding anniversary. We found that our server, Abbie, was wonderful and helpful. The food was fantastic and came out to us at a good pace -- not too fast and not too slow. We enjoyed cooking to food at our table in the boiling broth as well as the fantastic flavor of the sauces and seasonings. We had the Wisconsin Trio to start, Caesar salad plus the combination that did not include lobster (can't remember the name) and then were allowed to substitute more shrimp for the tuna. We finished it off with the Original chocolate fondue -- but were allowed to substitute dark chocolate for milk chocolate... it was all fantastic! My only criticism would be that we probably didn't event need the salad even though it was good. I highly recommend The Melting Pot to anyone looking for a unique and pleasant dining experience.

This is my second visit to a melting pot and for some reason it just doesn't tickle my fancy. Everyone I know is obsessed with the Melting Pot but I just can't get down with it. I can understand why people like it, but I just don't. For me it is high priced low quality food and its a chain. Sure its fun to sit down and dip stuff into vats of cheese, chocolate, and broth (which is all vegetarian) but I just don't think it's a worth while experience for me. The cheese is tasty, but I'd much rather buy a good quality cheese on my own then dip low quality chips, bread, veg, and apples into. For this meal, the salad was my favorite part, the peppercorn ranch was super tasty. We skipped a main course because I went with 4 ladies and we didn't want to have to roll out of the place. The chocolate was pretty good, but once again I can get something better to dip and better quality chocolate elsewhere. I just don't feel good when I leave this place! I watched my intake and didn't over eat, but the food doesn't agree with me. I keep thinking that I may be harsh on giving it 2 stars, I mean the food isn't bad, its actually somewhat tasty, and the service was decent, I just can't give this place anymore stars.

some of my girls and i came here for their restaurant week offerings. WOW-so much food! i needed the jaws of life to get my out of the booth at the end of the meal. the best parts were definitely the cheese and chocolate courses. the meat course was good, but i honestly could have skipped it. we started with the spinach and artichoke cheese, which was really, really good. i was suprised that it did not taste like the traditional spinach artichoke dip that i am used to; it was BETTER! a LOT of cheese, served with bread, veggies, and green apples. for meats, i had the warrington, which was scallops, salmon, sirlon, chicken, and a chicken dumpling. the scallops and sirlon were the best parts of the dish. for the chocolate course, we ordered the cookies and cream with dark chocolate; cookies and cream is chocolate with crushed oreos and flamabyed marshmallows. i'm not a big marshmallow fan, but they worked well in this desser.t the give you all types of stuff to dip in the chocolate - marshmallows, rice krispy treats, brownies...it was so good. as much as i love chocolate, i couldn't eat as much of it as i would have liked since i was so full from the 2 prior courses. service was decent. nothing spectacular, but our waiter was nice. bonus points for having a random conversation with us about the ying yang twins without treating us like we were total wackos. if you want the full deal, come during restaurant week. otherwise, i'd just come for the cheese and chocolate. this would be way to expensive to order all 3 courses from the regular menu, and i don't think it would be worth it. you will be plenty satisfied with the cheese and chocolate. besides, they are the courses that put the fun in fondue! (i had to work that in somewhere).

Had a wonderful experience, loved every minute of it! We had reservations for a Saturday evening but ended up sitting at the bar with Samantha & Ricky and very happy we decided to sit there! They were both wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable and made our evening even more enjoyable! We both had a four-course meal starting with the swiss cheese fondue, salads and entrees including varieties of meat, vegetables and seafood ....and then dessert, which was phenomenal!!! Thank you to both Sammi and Ricky and we will most definitely come back to see you! Can't wait!!!

This Melting Pot is much better then the other locations that I have been at! All you can eat dippers for the cheese fondue course as well as the chocolate course... makes it soooo nice if you run out of veggies or fruit for your fondue! Waiter was great! Food was fab! Big Night Out is great but I probably would just enjoy coming here for the cheese fondue and chocolate fondue courses!

The Melting Pot is a great place for a sit down dinner with a large group of people. The food was excellent, but the price was way too high and the service is moderate. I was displeased when my friends and I were taken to the worst possible table, even though there were better tables available. I will return simply because the food was AMAZING!

The Melting Pot is definitely worth trying at least once. The whole fondue idea is rather unique and I personally haven't seen or heard of any other restaurant differentiating itself by serving fondue for every course. I happen to like the place even though it is in the chain restaurant genre, it's a fun place to go with a group. Just be prepared to shell out some serious cash because the dinner experience isn't cheap! Otherwise, the fondues are all extremely good, I've tried a number of cheese and chocolate fondues at the place and they've all been sinful. The meat selection is really delicious too, especially the lobster. I'd have to say my favorite fondue of the visit was the chocolate peanut butter with assorted fruits and other edible dipping tools like marshmallows - yum.

This is a great fondue place. If you don't like the fondue concept, you shouldn't go here! I've had some great cheese and chocolate fondue here. The dippers have always been fresh. They have decent sirloin steak and filet mignon on their platters. The chicken is hit or miss. They have a great martini and speciality drink list. I always leave way too full and feeling guilty about it! I'd love to go here just for dessert, but it's a bit of a hike for dessert. Dress code confuses me though. I like to dress up a bit when I go there, but I've seen plenty of people come in in jeans and tees. Heck, the last time we were there I saw a couple with a baby who ended up spending most of their meal standing outside trying to calm their kid down. It's definitely not a place for kids unless yours are extremely well behaved, and even then, I think you'll get some looks.

If you love fondue, you'll love this place! I recommend the big night out, that way you get the full course experience. Bring your appetite because the portions are huge. The service is good, the quality is great, and they have a great cocktail and wine selection. They are always running great promotions, so I recommend signing up for their email list.

The food was very good, as with any Melting Pot restaurant. The manager and (hostess?), though, will sure make you feel rushed. The manager came by to introduce herself early on. Personally, I don't need to meet the manager. Throughout the dinner, she must have walked through the dining room 25 times looking at the table every time. Her assistant, hostess(I'm not sure what her job was) came through 4 times with a notepad. She stopped a few feet from every table, looked at our progress I'm assuming, at took notes. When they weren't walking by or taking notes, they were looking around the corner scanning the tables from a distance. Our waitress, Jessica, was great. It was a good dinner but we found ourselves joking that "we're almost finished" every couple minutes when they walked by to check our table. Probably will try somewhere else next time.

My fiance and I dined here for my birthday in July. We had been here the year before and weren't super impressed with what we got. During our first visit we ordered the Big Night Out, which to be honest, wasn't spectacular. The main course included steak, chicken, seafood, veggies, pork, but really we only enjoyed the seafood. We were so stuffed after our main course that we hardly touched our chocolate fondue. The second time around we remembered and went a different route. We shared the artichoke cheese fondue and loved it! Both of us got the seafood main course and were very happy! The best of all was the bananas foster chocolate fondue which was super yummy. This place is overpriced (which is why it gets 4 stars instead of 5 from me.) Also, drinks here aren't very strong. You're better off going to a bar after dinner for a good cocktail. Overall, I love this place. I just wish they'd lower their prices considering you cook your own main course.

Wow I'm still thinking about the spinach-artichoke fondue. This was my first cheese fondue and I was very pleased with the experience. BF and I wandered in without a reservation because the wait at Cheesecake Factory was too long. There were over 70 names ahead of us! Yeah... Anyway, we were taken to the bar area to wait while a burner opened up. We both ordered drinks. The key lime pie drink - oh my god. It even had graham cracker crumbs along the rim - and I love different textures in my drink (well, except stuff like curd in milk that has gone bad). It was so good that I wanted to get a second one but I restrained myself. One upsetting thing was that I had ordered a different drink (the French Pear) prior, and it was good, but I found a strand of hair in there. It wasn't mine because mine is longer, and it wasn't the bartender's because his was much shorter. He was apologetic and accomodating though. Our wait for a burner was a bit longer than the estimated 20 minutes, but eventually, a burner opened up and we ordered our food. The bartender recommended the mojo, which was good at first but eventually it tasted a bit too citrusy (they squeezed half an orange and some lime in there). Honestly, I think there's a huge markup in price compared to the amount of food they give you. Fondue ingredients are so simple. It really is more for the experience. It's a great place to go with friends or for a romantic evening. Just know that it's a bit pricey. But I think that my drink and the cheese fondue were definitely worth it. Despite the small portions in the entree, we both left stuffed that night. You can fill up from the fondue alone. The service at the bar was good even though both bartenders who served us were very busy. I would return.

The food was just okay, but come here for the desert!!! The price of everything else is pretty expensive, but the chocolate fondue is fun and delicious. Save yourself the time and money by just getting dessert here and you'll leave happy.

We just wanted a tapas-like place since we had a late lunch. I've wanted to check out the Melting Pot for years but it just never happened. We were asked if it was a special occasion when we made the reservation. That's the kind of thing that should tip you off that it's expensive. I felt bad that our friendly and incredibly knowledgeable server, Jen, had to go over the entire menu since it was my first time. We really just wanted cheese and chocolate. We decided on the special italian cheese mix and ate through the entire thing. It's great that they bring out as many dippers as you need. We got another helping of apples which was awesome. I liked the cheese we got but i think I would go for the cheddar mix next time. I just wanted something a little sharper. I didn't want to waste any so we finished the bowl. Big mistake! Then we ordered the chocolate. We went for the bananas foster with milk rather than white chocolate cuz that's just how we roll. Oh. My. God. Absolutely delicious. Sinfully so. Fantastically so. Beautifully so. Oh, and all the lovely (unlimited) dipping options: strawberries, bananas, brownie, rice krispie treats, cheesecake, pond cake, and two kinds of marshmallows. We got second helpings of the strawberries, bananas, and rice krispie treats. We let the bananas sit in the chocolate and get nice and warm and soft and covered. Oh lordy. The chocolate was so good but because we gorged ourselves on the cheese we just couldn't finish it. I wanted to cry. I still want to cry thinking about what a waste that was. Ooooh, it was that good. Look, I'm salivating now. I tried my hardest to eat through it and left feeling uncomfortably full. *sigh* The price wasn't bad considering how filling it was. I have no idea how someone can go all out and do the multi-course meal. We weren't famished when we showed up, but cheese and chocolate between two people was more than enough. Add steak and lobster and salad to the mix?! You wouldn't be able to appreciate the chocolatey goodness by the end. My only complaint was that it was freezing in there. Bring your winter jacket when you go; you'll need it. Verdict: DELICIOUS! When can I go back?

only fair..the first course/cheese fondue had about 3 tiny carrot strips (for 4 of us)and two small broccoli tops and PLENTY of bread..The food seems unhealthy and the description of the "Heart Healthy Canola oil" was only just that...a POT OF OIL to fry our meat..Boiling oil is NOT HEALTHY no matter what kind of oil it is! I thought it was going to be a sauce of some type.. The chocolate fondue dessert was wonderful..I would ONLY return to this restaurant for DESSERT; the other courses are too pricey for unhealthy food...yes, the dessert is not great-health wise but desserts usually are not; the sides of strawberries and other fruits were great and the dark chocolate was delicious..Our waiter, I think his name was Rich, was fabulous!!

Good food, good service. It does what it supposed to do! However, it is a bit pricy and not a good place for a simple date. I might try again future for special occasion.

I love The Melting Pot!!!! The food is pretty good, but I like it more for the experience. It's a FUN place to eat. I didn't particularly like my salad, so if you go here, just order a plain salad, don't try to get too fancy or you may be disappointed as well. I think mine was a caprese salad, which had field greens and mozzarella cheese!! I think that salad in combination with the cheese fondue was just a little too much CHEESE!! LOL For our cheese fondue, we ordered the spinach artichoke and the swiss. I preferred the swiss myself. The mojo/ carribean and coq au vin cooking style tastes best for your meats, so go ahead and spend an extra $6 for it. We ordered the combo that came with lobster, (Fondue Fusion) but I found the lobster to be just mediocre. Stick to the shrimp, chicken, and steaks. I'm not a pork eater, so I don't know if that tastes good or not. They bring you a ton of dippers for your cheeses. (breads, carrots, apples, cauliflour, etc.) and potatos, mushrooms, and broccoli to go with your entree. For dessert, you can choose your preferred chocolate to dip into as well, but you'll probably be too full for it! I would highly recommend this restaurant!!! It's entirely too expensive, but the food is good, and it's a lot of fun! Plan on being here at least 3 hours, because they bring it to you course by course. Reservations are suggested.

I'm paying a restaurant to give me ingredients so I can cook my own food. I'm not thrilled with how there is so much info thrown at you (types of sauces, types of foods, cooking times, things to do and not do) and no instruction manual. A typical meal can take hours! While enjoyable, it's a chore and the meats aren't that good (dry white chicken meat, for example). The sauces are OK and not too spicy (even though the one sauce is touted as wasabi-like) and the cheesecake is nasty. On the good side, it's good for folks who want to hang out and spend a little more cash, there's plenty of wine on their wine list, the ambience is nice for a third date type deal and there is copious parking. Our server (David) was funny and bartender (Leslie) quick. If you don't like the concept of fondue (I don't), avoid this place, otherwise I'd recommend it for a try!

Yum yum yum! Love the food here. It makes me feel very sophisticated when I dip veggies and bread into a delicious mixture of cheese. And as for that great dessert fondue? Oh boy, I could eat it every moment of the day - so much so that I bought my own little fondue bowl. (I melt the left-over Easter chocolate bunnies and munch away on apples and strawberries...) Definately a great place to go with friends, very intimate atmosphere. Go dress up like a million bucks and enjoy with your friends!

When you are in the mood for an intimate dinner, nothing else compares to a hands on fondue dinner. I recommended skipping lunch, and getting on of the dinner "packages" with cheese, meet, and choco fondues for the full experience. Wine is a bit pricey here, but completes the indulgant experience. Glad this place is nearby!!!

We went to The Melting Pot for a romantic first wedding anniversary, and they delivered. Yes, they are expensive for a full meal. Yes, you'll have to deal with annoying KOP girls waiting for a table with you. But grab an overpriced, delicious drink at the bar, and before you know it, you'll be having an experience, not just a meal. We sat in the romantic section in the back with 2 person booths, but I would imagine it would be fun for a larger group, as well. Our server was great about explaining everything step by step, and we had plenty of time to talk while we ate some delicious food. Skip the refills on the dippers for cheese. You'll be more stuffed than you can imagine by the end of your meal, and you DO NOT want to miss any part of the dessert. We had the special menu and the coq au vin sauce for the entrees. The best combo of the evening was the balsamic sirloin in the coq au vin. We had the fondue selection of the special menu, the tiramisu. I'd recommend something else, as it ended up just tasting like plain chocolate. We came back for my step-daughter's 13th birthday, but just for dessert and got a small S'mores and small white chocolate. I can't recommend the white chocolate, but I'm not a fan. The S'mores fondue was fantastic. Dinner definitely isn't a splurge we'll be able to make again anytime soon, but dessert for four was just over 40 dollars and not bad for a special night out.

Went here a month ago with a large group for a surprise B-day bash. The food here is pretty good overall. It's more about the experience to be sure and it is something best shared with several friends. The food runs the spectrum with some stuff being really quite tasty and other things being kinda blah. The cheese appetizer, the salad that followed it and the dessert were great. My main gripe is with the seasoning they put on a lot of their meats (beef, seafood and chicken). We got a large mixed platter (beef, chicken, lobster, shrimp, sausage) and some of the meat was ruined for me by the strange seasoning they put in fairly copious amounts on some of the meat. This is really upsetting when you're presented with some fantastic meat like filet, lobster and shrimp. Someone needs to tell the cooks that lobster should be left alone or only seasoned VERY mildly unless it's cut up and put into something else. I couldn't even enjoy eating the shrimp, and I eat almost anything, so I gave it to another couple. As others here have said this place is a little on the pricey side but I do think they give you a significant amount of food. Service on our visit was very good overall. The hostess even gave me a complimentary glass of wine to try once she learned I was an oenophile and that I had enjoyed the wine flight I had ordered. It's definitely not the type of restaurant you would go to for a solo meal. Everything about a fondue experience is made for sharing with others. Despite my heavy handed seasoning complaints, I would go back again.

Its nice for a large party but the price KILLS this place. Highlights = Cheese appetizer fondue and the chocolate dessert. We got the big night out, she had 1 drink and I had 2 beers (miller light) and our bill was $145 including tax/tip. That's expensive for two people, especially since I am the one cooking my own dinner! The cheese was good. The dinner part was average at best. The filet was eh...the lobster eh....nothing was special except for dessert. Chocolate fondue was excellent along with rice crispie treats was amazing. I would go back for a dessert or appetizer and some drinks but not for dinner. The staff was good as was the decorations and decor.

Went to another ladies night out last night. We got there early and had a drink at the bar while we waited. The bar staff was very friendly. We were later called to be seated and found our table to be decorated with balloons and a birthday card for Lisa M. I had mentioned it was her birthday when I made the reservation online but didn't know the table would be set up this way. She was shocked and so were the rest of us. haha. The Fiesta cheese again was amazing. The Cesar salad is also great. The main dish isn't the greatest but it was good. We had the preset meal of shrimp, beef tenderloin, honey Dijon chicken, chicken pot sticker and a Gorgonzola something (ravioli maybe) which was the only thing I didn't like. Then dessert which is always the best part at the Melting Pot. Cheese and Dessert are my favorites here. Lisa M's plate was brought out with candles on the cheesecake. We sang Happy Birthday at the top of our lungs (maybe the drinks had something to do with it) and watched her hide her face. The waiter took a couple of pictures for us with our cameras too. Our waiter Jean was amazing. He was so much fun which made for a great night. He still owes us our dance but that's OK, we'll get him next ladies night ;)

Much has already been said about The Melting Pot in the gazillion reviews already here. What can I add? Yes, it's a chain restaurant but that doesn't mean it's loud, overly lit and filled with tchotzches. It's dimly lit and feels swanky. Like a really cool bar that I'm not cool enough to be in. It's pricey. At first, that was kind of a turn off for me but then I started to think about it-- everything requires extensive mise en place. The cheese is grated and tossed with flour. The apples are cut fresh and not oxidized. All of the meats for the entree course are trimmed, cut and marinated. There are 10 sauces. Yes, you're technically cooking your own food, but the behind-the-scenes work is EXTENSIVE. That's what you're paying for. Not to mention that they're not using velveeta, Campbells Condensed Soup and wonder bread here, these are high quality, fresh ingredients. I love every part of this place. It's a special occasion thing because of the price, but it's romantic and fun. Highly, highly recommend it.

I used to love the melting pot until I worked there. All I can say is that good thing the lights are dim because the place is filthy. Trust me, you do not want to see what the kitchen looks like! One of the managers always wore the same suit, everyday! I kid you not, I NEVER saw this person wear anything else but the one suit. Don't ask me how it got washed because that is a question I can't answer... Another manager seemed to be a little slow which I guess explains why menial tasks took precedence over important issues. Hopefully the rest of the company is not like this. If you want good, clean fondue check out Simply Fondue or the chestnut hill location.

I think when most people go to the melting pot, they get talked into the "Big Night Out" which is just far too much food to eat in one sitting. You can do it, and I have, but you don't feel too good about it afterward. Add in the $100+ price tag (without drinks), and it just isn't worth it. The big night out is great for a date that's going to take 3+ hours, but otherwise, stick to the basics, cheese and Chocolate. That's what you are there for anyway right? The cheddar cheese fondue is my favorite, but I had the spicy salsa fondue (can't remember the name) the last time I went and it was great. I like all the chocolate fondues, you can't really go wrong, but the peanut butter and Bailey's ones are my favorites. My wife and I go there, get a drink, a cheese, and a small chocolate fondue and only spend $40-$50 after tip, which is very reasonable to me.

Meh. I mean, The Melting Pot is interesting. It's kind of fun to cook food with your family. But there are two things that make it bad: The obsequious waiters and...the bill. The waiters try to be just a little too buddy-buddy. I'm okay with a waiter talking, but I am not interested at all in them hanging around. Get the order, melt the cheese, and buh-bye. Oh, the bill...it's like $60/person at least. Honestly I was practically shocked at the prices. It's a good idea. Once.

I went to the Melting Pot for the first time today. I had heard a lot about it, but somehow had never gotten around to trying it. I was not disappointed. We ordered two big things of cheese (plain cheddar and some sort of spicy salsa type of deal). It came with various types of bread, vegetables, and apples for dipping. It was all delicious. The spicy cheese was definitely my favorite, with the bread for dipping. Then we skipped right to dessert. We got a giant vat of chocolate with peanut butter mixed into it. It came with plates full of deliciousness, in the form of brownies, pound cake, rice krispie treats, marshmallows (coated in graham cracker or oreo crumbs), strawberries, and other dippable items. This was exceptionally good and I ate so much that I almost felt sick afterwards (in a good way). The chocolate and peanut butter was excellent, and my favorite items to dip were the rice krispie squares and the brownies. I also ordered this crazy drink called a Yin & Yang, or something like that. It was basically a martini with ice cream in it, topped with chocolate shavings in a way that made it looks like (surprise) a yin-yang symbol. Needless to say, it was pretty crazy delicious. And it looked so cool that I had to take a picture. The place was nice and clean and everything, and a little more formal than I expected. Our waitress was nice and friendly and provided excellent service. She was happy to recommend things when asked. Overall, a great experience with delicious food. I'll definitely be heading back at some point.

Fun and fine dining combined! Have been to the Melting Pot once before in MD, so the options and pricing weren't a surprise. I love the whole idea of it, and my favorites (as with most) are the cheese appetizers and the chocolate fondue. It was a saturday night, and we were staying nearby for the weekend, but we didn't have a reservation. We got there around 7:00 pm, and were told we'd have to wait until 10:00 pm unless a reservation was canceled or they had a no show. So we left and came back around 8:00 pm, and had a seat at the bar. We had a drink each, and waited around hoping for a fondue pot on the bar. The bartender was very nice and chatted with us as we waited. All the fondue bar spots were taken, but we were seated at a table around 9:15 pm. Our waiter was very nice and patient. I picked the Cheddar and Beer cheese fondue and we got the mojo cooking style, no salads. We had to get new vegetables because we didn't realize there were mushrooms on the plate and my fiance is very allergic. I got the shrimp and sirloin entree, and he got the French quarter, which gave everything a nice spicy taste. I loved the Ginger Plum sauce. We got the S'mores chocolate, but with half milk and half dark. They gave us extra dippers when we asked with no complaint. Towards the end of the evening the owner came over to our table and chatted with us, apologising for the wait. She was very nice and gave us some tips on places to see in the area and in downtown Philly (including where to get the best cheesesteaks), which we planned to do the next day. All in all it was a good experience. The food was great and the service was outstanding.

As for the reviews that I've seen with people saying things such as "why should I pay to cook my own food" then you obviously do not understand the whole point of fondue..To each his own. If you're not a hands on, social person then this experience is definitely not for you! My boyfriend and I went there recently, where we did order the big night out. As our first time, it was a perfect choice! The cheese fondue is made at the table, and your bread and veggies are endless, and you can eat as much as you'd like. The salad, immediately following was also very good--very fresh, and the dressing tasted as if it had been made in the kitchen, as opposed to coming straight out of a bottle. The main course was absolutely divine! Lobster, sirloin, chickon, pork, shrimp, squash ravioli..don't worry they let you know how long to leave it in the pot so you'll have no problem making sure that the food is done appropriately! The dessert, as the cheese fondue, is an all you can eat type deal, with cake, strawberries, and so much more in a nice chocolate fondue--we got the banana foster white chocolate and it was great! Service was wonderful Atmosphere was wonderful food was phenomenal! I would definitely recommend this to ANYONE!

My first trip to a fondue joint...and my last. Maybe I'm not hip enough to get the whole "cook your own meal" thing. Way too much work, way overpriced and not enough food to have you leave satisfied. Maybe that's why we stopped at Gino's across the street for a big sloppy burger on the way home.

If your'e into dessert and chocolate.. you can't really go wrong here. We (wife and me) went back to Melting Pot after a long time to try it out again. Honestly the first time I went to Melting Pot was at the Chestnut Hill location probably like 10 years ago. I didn't have a great experience then. Back then we did the whole 9 yards, meaning dinner and dessert. After eating there I had the worst stomach issues and it was because I think we cooked the raw foods in a vat of oil that wasn't hot enough.. therefore under cooking the food. It's sort of both of our faults, we should have said something but ce la vie. This time was all dessert and for what it's worth it's all pretty straight forward. You get a pot of chocolate, it gets hot and then you use bunch of food to dip it in. My wife thought the ambiance was a little weird because it's dark and smelled funny but they're going for the romantic feel and smell was probably from the cheese. I think it's a bit pricey imo but there isn't a million fondue places either.

I like fondue. I really do. Melted cheese to dip in? Chocolate to dip in? Dip? Dip Dip. But, this is a chain. And in my food snobbish nature, I have this issue with chain restaurants. Their rank in the food world is for families with small children. Yes, I do eat at chains when I need to, but in general I try to pick something that isn't a chain when I'm out by myself. (Fogo De Chao not withstanding, because uh, hello? It's meat on a stick). This place is good, but that's about it. It's a great atmosphere for friends to get together. The service is hospitable, and you will leave feeling uncomfortable, because you just HAVE to finish everything in that bowl. Even the parts that are sticking to the side and will melt your tongue off. Otherwise, I don't understand why this restaurant is nearly impossible to get a reservation in and why it's nearly jam packed. It's ok, but nothing spectacular. And you have to cook your own food! Why are people making reservations well in advance for this?

My husband and I tried here for our first time and we were pleasantly surprised! It was a very interesting experience and we walked away feeling that their food was phenomenal. I'm not sure how I would feel going with another couple / group to the Melting Pot because I personally don't like the idea of double dipping but for those that aren't germ freaks than I would highly recommend it!

Not for little kids. Fondue is not just cheese anymore. We found the staff helpful and available. The atmosphere was awesome. Portions were too large for our small bellies and we ended up splitting entrees. We were never rushed to finish and get out. Dinner was 3 hours and very relaxed. Make sure you make reservations. Several areas were very romantic. My one complaint was the music was very loud causing everyone to talk loudly but you really didn't hear other tables conversations, just a loud comment or laugh. When the crowd thinned out we were overwhelmed by the jazz music. I don't drink but they had a sizable wine collection. Take a date there for a late dessert. You will be amazed!!

This is the best place to take a date....its fun, different...something for every appetite. This is a great place to come if your trying to impress your date by saying "I honestly thought about what we could do tonight - I wanted to make it fun and special". I know it worked on me!

    (4)
  • Charles R.

Over $300 for 4. The food is ok, nothing special, but ok. The prices for what you get are a joke. Son and his wife wanted to go so we tried it. I agree with a couple of the other people that the dessert is the only item really note worthy. Salads were fresh, but the main courses were overly seasoned and the prices are a joke. We had 2 salads, 2 small app's, 2 chicken and 2 beef and 2 bottles of not expensive wine, split 2 desserts and the bill was well over $300 before tip. Rather go to Mortons, Ruths Chris or Sullivans for that kind of money. I guess food wise I would give it a 3, but the prices make me give it a 2 overall. For that kind of money in the K of P area I would say go to Sullivans, Ruths Chris or Mortons.

I can't, in good conscience, give a place with chocolate fondue less than three stars, but I definitely wouldn't bump it any higher. Like many KOP restaurants, The Melting Pot is way overpriced, and serves food that's an Americanized incarnation of its international original. Our service, too, was a bit sloppy, which makes a huge difference when your waiter is indifferently mixing gooey, greasy cheese in the firing line of your lap. However, the dessert here--ours was dark chocolate and white, melted and served with bite-sized fruit, cakes, and brownies--was delicious. I'd consider coming back here for dessert and a cocktail, but not for dinner.

I went to several fondue restaurants in the past, but The Melting Pot in King of Prussia is definitely one of the more outstanding restaurants. Because it opened somewhat recently (in 2006), the interior is very chic and all the cooking wares (i.e. fondue pot) are still very new. The lighting in the restaurant tends to be a bit dimmer, which might appeal to some. The waiter and waitress are very nice. You get to communicate a lot with them, since they make your cheese fondue, etc. Usually, people order Big Night Out - a 4-course dinner which includes cheese, salad, entree, and chocolate. If that seems to heavy, you can always do cheese & chocolate only. They just came out with a new flavor for cheese, called Feng Sui Cheese Fondue, which I absolutely loved! Sadly, price tends to be somewhat expensive, but if you want relaxing experience, I would say go for it. It was definitely worth my time. Overall, it's a great restaurant for girls' night out, a romantic date for two, or catching up with old friends with a glass of wine. If you plan to bring children to the restaurant, I would make sure they are patient, because cooking process and the service can be a bit on the slower side. Otherwise, the experience should be tons of fun - especially when they know they are eating the food they just cooked! Also, I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

I went here with a gift certificate and oh my goodness wow. They had such a variety of fondue that the knowledgeable server had to go over the entire menu with us and explain. First came cheese and dippers, bread, apples, and veggies. I got the spinach artichoke dip. So delicious! Then I got a salad, all of them looked good but I got one with raspberry vinaigrette. Then a mixture of meat, shrimp, veggies, and pasta pouches to dip in coq au vin, the dip that we chose. Then dessert, a mouthwatering medley of pound cake, brownie, strawberry, banana, rice crispy treats, and odd marshmallow dippers. They also brought out cheese cake with a cherry on top. (I got extra cherries upon request!) We were stuffed to the gills and had to roll out. All in all a pleasant experience, helpful staff, clean eatery, gorgeous bathrooms, (I went twice just to use the mouthwash!) and cozy seating. The prices are high, about $40+ per person but so so worth it.

I've found this place is better experienced with a few friends. Groups are welcome and definitely add to the fun. Yes, you cook your own food. Yes, there are tons of choices. Yes it can be pricey. But yes, it's a good time. My advice would be to check out the local coupon books or sign up for their newsletter. From time to time they have great dinner deals that are a little easier on the wallet. The ambiance is what really sells this place. Let's face it, it's fun to dip things in cheese and chocolate. You can't deny it. If you and a few friends wanna try something different and fun check this place out. I would also suggest going during the week since the weekends are generally packed. Also remember that a meal will take the better part of 2 hours so plan ahead.

I came here for a special dinner with my boyfriend and had a fantastic time. I told them beforehand that it was special dinner and they gave us a card. The good service didn't stop there--our waiter was phenomenal as well and was there every time we needed him. This restaurant is perfect for intimate dinners because the booths are all very private and the vibe is dark and quiet. We tried a cheese fondue (Alpine), a very lavish seafood platter for the entree, and the turtle chocolate fondue (we added dark chocolate as the base--do it, you know you want to) for dessert. We really enjoyed dipping all of the fruits and crackers into the cheese--that was the only dish that we completely cleared that night, because it was that good. I really liked the taste of the seafood platter's broth, and would have wolfed down more of the dessert fondue if my stomach wasn't so full already. The only drawback to having the lights dimmed was making sure that the food was totally cooked. I tend to be really conscious of how well-done my meat is, but I just made sure to use my phone to time the meat instead.

Consistently excellent! I've been here a few times and every time I'm happy I spent the money to eat here. They've expanded their menu options, there was a seafood fondue option on the menu which looked really good. Ate at the bar on a busy Saturday night. Food was really fresh and the the bartender was great. My only complaint is that I took the fondue to go and it seemed like there was less than if I would have ordered at the restaurant. Also, the decor was a little outdated. I'll definitely be back this is one of my favorite chain restaurants.

Love it. Went for a GNO with one of my best friends. I had a Living Social deal. Jessyca was our server and she was wonderful. I had a sangria which was excellent. Then we did bacon & brie cheese, salad (I had cesar which was good) then we each picked 3 entrees. I had orange chicken, teriyaki beef and wild mushroom sacchettis. My friend had filet mignon, shrimp and chicken pot stickers. We chose coq auto vin for our cooking style. For dessert we did chocolate with dulche de Leche and sea salt. Again, great food, good price with the Living Social deal and excellent service. Will certainly return.

I recently found myself back here for my date's birthday and it was awesome. After he made the reservation, I called back and let it slip that it was his birthday. When we arrived, we did have a short wait (our table was still occupied). When our host sat us, she gave my date a happy birthday card that she had decorated herself. I thought that was really thoughtful. Katie (?) was amazing. She was there for any suggestions, comments, concerns...you name it! The service was five stars for sure! The food was about a four, excluding our cheese dish (Apple cider something) which was almost better than the chocolate! The drinks were pretty good too although you really couldn't taste the liquor. We each had a sailor punch.

My family was in town for my best friend from the military's 40th birthday. We've been friends for over 22 years and even our wives have been friends for about 18 years, even our kids are close friends. We spend the day at Valley Forge and my 14 year old suggested Melting Pot for dinner. We arrived 2 hours before the store opened but seeing there was a private party inside, they allowed our party of 7 to come in and sit right away. Talk about amazing service on a special day. Not only did we celebrate his 40th birthday in style, the staff made us feel like VIP's without even knowing it was a special day. While my wife and two daughters have been to the melting pot in Annapolis Maryland a bunch of times, this was our friends first time and the manager was nice enough to go over every aspect of the menu in detail which was awesome. The servers were great and cheerful. While I've always had good service at a melting pot, this was an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. It made the whole weekend extra special. I can never thank our server Michael enough for the fun we had while enjoying this amazing meal.

I came here with a friend just to get the chocolate dessert fondue. We saw on the website that they had gluten free options and decided to give it a try. We informed the waiter that my friend has celiac disease, an allergy to gluten. He said no problem, he could make everything gluten free. They even had gluten free cake/brownies to dip, which we were very excited about! Well, my friend ended up getting very sick by the time that we got home. There was definitely gluten in something that we ate. It wasn't just cross contamination either. So, if you have any type of food allergy, I'd be wary of eating here because either they don't take it seriously, or they don't know what they're doing.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I know some of you will say "yea but it's just the Melting Pot." I understand that it is a chain establishment, but I personally am all about the overall dining experience. We originally booked our reservation (highly recommended given that the large restaurant fills up VERY quickly) for KOP Restaurant Week. Upon arriving and viewing the menu, we decided to order off of the regular menu, simply by choice. We started off with the Quattro Formaggio cheese fondue for our appetizer with the fruits and veggies provided. Outstanding choice. Dinner consisted of The Classic (beef sirloin, BBQ poor medallion, chicken breast) with extra chicken as a substitute for the shrimp, and the Land and Sea (filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp) with a side of ahi tuna. We had these with the coq au vin cooking sauce. Both were phenomenal. Service was outstanding. Food was incredible. Experience was unique. Get there sometime soon!

This was my first time here, nice atmosphere for a group, who want an interactive participation in the meal. We were group of 8, we ordered the 4 course meal. The first course was 3 cheeses , fondue style, I do recommend , tasty .. The cheddar delicious. . 2nd course was a salad choice, my order was caprese, fresh tomatoes, basil...excellent choice. 3rd and main course was the vegetarian sampler, enjoyed the dipping veg in the different sauces, .the steak my friend ordered was good . My favorite desert all sorts of fruit dipping into different chocolates. .fun tasty. ...enjoyable, but overall am not a fan of cooking my own food but as a group for3 hr, dinner..This is your choice.

I hate to say my favorite restaurant is a chain, but I really LOVE the melting pot. Whenever I have a special occasion to go out to dinner, I always want to come here. I have came to this melting pot quite a few times over the years. A lot of people think it is overrated but I think it definitely lives up for the hype. This is a fondue place and pretty much everyone knows how that works. There are 4 courses: cheese, salad, meats, and dessert. All of the food from start to end is always delicious. It can be a little pricey, but I always leave stuffed and if you're doing all four courses, you can get a pretty good deal by doing their fixed price option. Service is always great and personable, i've never had a negative experience with them. If you haven't been to the melting pot, go right away! The food is amazing and it is truly an experience.

By far this is the BEST restaurant in the area. Every course is a culinary experience. My hubby and I come here every year for our anniversary and every year, I count the days down until our next Melting Pot trip. My favorite courses are the cheese and chocolate but every course is incredible!!

Melting Pot is really a great establishment. Their steak with the dipping sauces is hard to beat, and the mushrooms in the pot are very good also. Recommend the Coq au vin, it's worth the extra money. Cheese and dessert are good too. Waiters are usually decent as well. Of course, it won't be cheap, it's on the more expensive side.

Decided to make a reservation for restaurant week. To start off I was excited that they extended the philly restaurant week specials to the KOP location. Arrived early and was seated right away. Overall the whole experience was great. Our server was wonderful. Due to the snow the restaurant was closing a little earlier than normal. Usually at this point service is lacking with it being pretty obvious everyone wants to leave. This was not the case with our server though. She didn't make us feel rushed at all and was very attentive the whole night. The food was very delicious. We followed the restaurant week menu. The dessert was by far the best part of the meal! We did the creme brûlée fondue. I would highly recommend it to anyone. With all that being said, this isn't a place to go for a quick bite to eat. Plan to spend some time here. Great place for a date!

How can you beat dipping things in cheese an chocolate? Not some place we would eat at regularly but for special occasions we love it! Just make sure to set aside some time because it takes around 2 hours to eat. It is very fun and great atmosphere.

I'm not a fancy food person. To me, it's a whole lot of money for not enough grub. There was nothing to dislike about my recent experience at the Melting Pot. The staff is very personable. What little food you receive is top quality and delicious. I didn't care for the wine I ordered, but that was my fault for not describing what I liked and asking our waiter. Overall it's just too much money, in my opinion. Having gotten that truly eye catching and positive note out of the way, the food there is truly perfect. We started off with the cheddar fondue with all the usual suspects: bread, fruit, and veggies. I ordered the steak lover's and my companion opted for all seafood. All of it was very fresh and tasty. Same with the variety of dipping sauces we were given. For dessert, we got the classic chocolate fondue with chunky peanut butter. I'm not usually big on sweets but even I couldn't help indulging in cheesecake, marshmallows, and Rice Krispy treats all dipped in melt in your mouth hot chocolate fondue. I'm told $96 to eat at this place is actually cheaper than it used to be. Truly mind boggling. And before you ask, my date has been wanting to go to this place for ages, so I surprised her. If this amount of food and paying this much is in your price range and taste, go for it.

Though I've gone to MP a lot in Philly, this was our first time here. Difficult to find and totally not thinking that the KOP location did restaurant week, we still managed to snag a table end of January. The meats tray with the cheese course was a delight. The cocktails, not so much (the strawberries in my love martini were still frozen!) Luckily, Garrett, our waiter, saved the day by lighting our table and himself (fingers and apron) on fire. Very impressive!

I've never been to a fondue restaurant before , this was out of this out of this world. They were short staffed, so the manager had to wait on us, Tony was really helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The fondue was melted at the table for us to perfection. We had 4 courses, I recommend the spinach artichoke appetizer, and the "original" chocolate\peanutbutter dessert. As for eveything in between, you really can't go wrong. I'll definitely be back!

Was at melting pot king of Prussia great service and great atmosphere as well. We had gift cards to go and the reviews on the king of prussia location were the best. That seated us early before 4pm and we took our time eating without the feeling of being rushed. Great time!

Keeping in line with my kids birthday tradition of going to the melting pot we found this one in the KOP area. The service was good and of course the food was good. Part of going to a MP is the fun of making your own food...which is kinda funny when you get the bill. Anyways, food, service, cleanliness were all good.

I have to agree with the multiple other reviews that said the the 'Big Night Out' was just way too much food. My girlfriends and I haven't been here in years and decided that it would be a fun to revisit the Melting Pot, since I remember having a great time previously. Obviously, we forgot how much food came with the four course meal. We had reservations for last Saturday night. The place was PACKED, there were a lot of very young groups of teens and tweens, so we were a little nervous at the noise level, but we thankfully had a nice corner booth in the back with other people our age! We came to the same conclusion, go for the cheese (Cheddar Cheese) and chocolate fondue (Smores), everything else wasn't as memorable. Rice krispy treats, strawberries + decedant chocolate= HEAVEN!! All four of us could have just ordered one plate of the "Land and Sea" entree which was a selection of filet mignon, New York Strip, Duck, Chicken Breast, Tiger Shrimp and a nice Goat Cheese Ravioli. I felt terrible about all of the left over food still on our plates! Our server, Patty was really friendly and attentive, she did a nice job with the presentation of the fondues (she made it in front of us) and had great drink recommendations, the Ying Yang and the Creme Brulee was a group favorite! A great little interactive dinner, which put a delightful twist on the traditional meal, and it's makes for great conversation. The only con, and it's a minor one- and to be expected, was that I left smelling like all the fondue bases and a greasy face, the steam was wafting in my face the entire dinner!!

The Melting Pot is a great place to linger over dinner with your significant other AND it's fun too! Plenty of choices from the menu from lobster tails and shrimp to chicken and beef! Whether for a special night out or just for a different dining option, THIS is the place to come!

We visited the Melting Pot last night for a work get together. There were 14 of us so we had to pick the menu ahead of time. We chose the Big Night Out option which gave us a taste of pretty much all The Melting Pot has to offer-3 cheeses, 2 broth/oil options and three chocolate fondues for the group to share. The cheese - we had traditional, three cheese, and Fiesta. These were definitely a table favorite. We had the two standard broth/oil selections. That was actually the most fun because you're cooking your food, battering and deep frying all kinds of fun stuff and using the 'search and rescue' spoon to find the items you lost. The food gets a 4 star, but the set up gets 3. Depending on where you were sitting at the table, you did not have access to each of the pots for dipping and it was really hard to switch the pots around so that we could rotate. I wish there was a better way for everyone to be able to try each offering. With three choices, there was no way to easily try all three options. This wasn't as big an issue with the broth & oil course because there were only two options so the pots were more spread out, but I definitely felt like I missed out on the cheese & dessert. Plus with a group of 14, we were seated at one long table with the one side being a bench seat. If someone in the middle needed to get up, the entire row needed to stand up and file out for the one person to leave the table. Kind of annoying over the course of a 3 hour meal. Overall, a fun, reasoably priced night out for our office. We are a rowdy crowd and it's definitely something we would do again. It was A-ok.

We had a really great dinner at this Melting Pot location. It's a little difficult to see where the restaurant actually is because it's located in the way, way back of a street facing shopping center near the mall. The parking is kind of limited back there too. But we had a great time mainly because our server, Garrett, was so awesome. He was extremely personable and even had a few flambé tricks up his sleeve! We ordered the dark chocolate with Disaronno for dessert and he did some impressive stuff when he lit that alcohol on fire to burn it off (no joke he lit his fingers on fire and then did some fire eating. this guy was like KOP's david blaine). Everyone there was very friendly and attentive when it came to water refills and bringing you additional dippers.

I'm pretty much in agreement with Dave H., Why should I PAY to cook subpar food on my own. I can cook at my house....thats why I go out. Ambiance can only go but so far, and really all that consists of are dim light, pillows, Big Booths with a counter-top stove in the middle. Trust me this is ONLY a date place because I can only see females REALLY wanting to go to this place. (In the words of Jay-Z,"not a diss song just a real song")

We love the Melting Pot!!! Me and my Girlfriend have been going for the past 4 years and have tried it at all different locations. The one in KOP is our local MP so we always make reservations that way then keep a list of your favorite items and drinks. The cheese and chocolate are amazing and the main course has great meats as well as chicken fish and on some pasta. We have gone with friends family and just out by ourselves and always have a great time. Normally with the Big Night Out its about $50 per person not including drinks. If you get on there mailing list they send you coupons and upcoming events.

I have only heard rants, raves, and delicious tales about the melting pot and was really disappointed. Aside from the stories I've heard about the place I also bought into the concept. I had the idea that the place is romantic, very posh, intimate, a place that is nice enough to propose at. Anyway, that was what I was expected after seeing the prices. What is more romantic than Fondue, right? The Melting Pot was the complete opposite of what I thought. First off, a reservation did not seem to mean anything here. We were seated in the order we arrived, which was 15min past our reservation time, and it was a Sunday night! Second- I was shocked at the number of kids bouncing and running around when we walked in. I am so glad I went for birthday dinner and not an anniversary type of celebration like I originally thought I wanted to do. It felt like we were at Chuckie Cheese. Third- Management appeared frantic and disheveled. I was expecting the host stand to be a little bit more put together. Posh? Eh not so much. Fourth- We were sat 15 past our reservation time and it took another 10 minutes to get our refreshments, even just a glass of water! Fifth- The cheese was just regular pre-shredded cheese you buy in the bag at the grocery store. We got the cheddar cheese fondue it was pretty bland Sixth- The salad was nothing special at all, it was a sad salad- disappointing. The main thing I want to put on my review is that it was not bad, just not what we thought and expected-just overall disappointing with a couple of highlights sprinkled throughout the meal... We lucked out and went during the Restaurant Week special which was $35 a person. Includes cheese fondue, salad, entrée, chocolate. The Lobster tail was amazing! And it was really fun and an experience cooking the meat. Also, we need to give major props for the servers as they flambé the chocolate fondue. That was very impressive! In conclusion- this is not an anniversary/romantic place. It's an Applebee's type restaurant with a really cool concept. Good for a large get together with friends.

I kinda expected a lot from this restaurant. Me and my friend chose to have the cheese and chocolate fondue. I don't understand how people go for the four course meal (way too much food). We got the spinach and artichoke cheese fondue. Actually my nearby bar has a better cheese dip than this. The artisan bread was good. And then we had a pure dark chocolate fondue. The cheese cake came along with it is the worst cheesecake I have ever tasted. Even a Chinese buffet will serve a better cheese cake. The waiter who served us was very nice and she was constantly checking upon us. Ambiance didn't please me at all. After visiting this restaurant, I will think twice before reserving in so called 'gourmet' chain restaurants.

Have been here twice and enjoyed the dipping/fondue experience. The selection of cheese is delicious, the vegetables and bread and meats for dipping are great, and the dessert platters top it off (usually to the point of making me feel overstuffed). It's a great fun dining experience and would recommend it for a group of close friends.

This place is great. We were in town for an extended weekend trip and ended our trip here. YUM! This place is a nice cozy sit down place. Our party was a group of 4 but we were seated in a huge corner booth, which was awesome. 3 of us ordered drinks - the drinks were good in that they were fruity, but didn't really have much alcohol in it. Mine was the Strawberry Basil Lemonade - YUM! We ordered the following: 1) Swiss Cheese Fondue (for 2; even though we had a party of 4) 2) Mojo Fondue - Seafood Trio Dip (ordered 2 extra bowls of veggies) 3) Chocolate Fondue (ordered 1 extra plate of marshmallows, strawberries, & bananas) I like that the restaurant will give you the extra dippers as long as there is fondue to dip. The food was just the right amount for the 4 of us, and the bill came out to roughly $90, which wasn't too bad. I would definitely return for the cheese & chocolate fondue!

Oh my goddd love it. Went for my bfs bday. The hosts acknowledged this as soon as we walked in. There was a bday card on our table. There was 6 of us. We got cheddar and fiesta cheese. Both awesome. Fiesta is my favorite. We got the oil and the court bouillon cooking styles. We all had a great time and will return. Dessert was the best! The plate had candles on it for the bday. Our waitress gave us plenty of dippers and brought out extra Rice Krispies for my little cousin. Our server was Laura and she is honestly the best server I've had. She was more than accommodating, didn't mind bringing us extra bread, sauces, or anything. She was very personal yet professional. All of the timing was perfect and she left no one with empty drinks. Table was always maintained and at the end we got a 10 dollar gift certificate for the bday. Oh and they were able to squeeze us in on such shirt notice.

Five stars for service, our waitress Laura (or Lauren?) Was knowledgeable, charming, and incredibly available and helpful as we meandered the intimidating menu for first timers. We went with the four courser, going for cheddar (at my hesitant boyfriend's request) as our starter. California salad was very sweet but delicious, and I went for the seafood while he did all meats. I believe we got the bourgenon, which was nice with both. Dessert, the classic chocolate pb was great and good the next day when it was taken home. My tips: 1. Get Laura as your waitress; 2. Try to wildberry margarita; 3. Be ready to wash all of your clothes after because you basically emerge steamed in a cheesy, winey smell; 4. Take the 9 pm reservation they offer as their only one, but then call day of and they will probably offer you a cancellation at a more suitable time

I don't know why I paid $98 to boil my own food that gave me horrible diarrhea (I know TMI). I guess I got caught in the hype. The cheese dip was good going down but not coming out my Bf and I were fighting for the bathroom. DO NOT waste your time or money if you are a good home cook. This place will insult your cooking skills and give you the BGs just go to the Cheesecake Factory it's only across the parking lot and you will save half the price and a shit storm

Here for the first time with my wife and WOW, the service to start with is amazing!!! I feel like a five star guest here, the hostess explained everything clearly and was very pleasant, we then met our server who is very attentive and extremely polite and a pleasure to deal with. Her name was Sara and if you go here I would recommend you sit in her section, we will definitely be back, thank u melting pot for a great anniversary dinner!

I went because I was curious and quickly discovered I'm not a big fan of The Melting Pot concept. The Cheese fondue is a decent idea for drinks and a place to sit with friends but for an entire meal its a terrible idea. Overpriced pretentious and not very interesting. Now I know and I will never have to go again. Now this is not a knock on the location it is my opinion of the chain and type of joint.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants. Not only is the food always amazing, but the service is consistently impeccable. Tonight my friend and I had dinner together and had such a wonderful experience. Our waiter, Bobby Joe, took our dining experience to another level. He was not only personable, he was extremely accommodating and also had us laughing all night. I would undoubtedly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great meal and an all around fun time.
